Pompey

Pompey — Pompey the Great, Roman general and triumvir, opponent of Caesar during the civil war (49–45 BC) and defeated at the battle of Pharsalus. Great Conqueror: Rome classes him as bronze A-rank Roman infantry with a balanced profile: caps 5/8 infantry, 5/6 cavalry, 4/6 archer, 4/7 navy. The navy emphasis is notable for an "infantry" general — it reflects his historical role as the conqueror of the Cilician pirates in 67 BC. In the GCR meta, Pompey is a solid commander without an explosive spike: good in infantry, decent everywhere else. Players typically use him as a "second-front general" — while Caesar holds Gaul, Pompey covers the East or the Mediterranean from Italy. His navy cap of 7 allows him to be moved onto an amphibious landing without losing efficiency. The Caesar (archer) + Pompey (infantry) combo faithfully reproduces the political structure of the First Triumvirate and covers all categories except deep navy (where Cleopatra or an S-rank navy commander takes over).
