Desert Rats

United Kingdom · Historical unit: 7th Armoured Division

The British 7th Armoured Division distinguished itself in the Libyan desert from 1940, fighting Italian forces and later Rommel's Afrika Korps.

Its unique experience of desert combat, combined with an aggressive armored mobility doctrine, made it one of the most feared British formations.

After North Africa, the Desert Rats fought in Italy, Normandy, then Germany until the end of the war.
